ENGLISH LANGUAGE STORY WRITER/REWRITER (TELEVISION)

We are recruiting now for a new team of experienced English Story Writers to work on a range of new and continuing China-focused, English-language television productions. Uniquely working from the convenience of your current location, regular writing projects, including project briefings and relevant reference documents will be made available to you via your private administrative account on our international content management workflow portal, BON Cloud.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ultimately reporting to the Project Manager, and liaising online on a regular basis with the production research team, you will be responsible for successfully completing clearly briefed writing and rewriting tasks. Your primary goal will be to create and/or rewrite the overall quality and relevance of the written piece for the story value to international audiences. Pieces will vary in length, emphasis, style and genre.

We produce and broadcast a wide range of Features and News video content. All written content you will work on is geared for international television broadcast on a day-to-day basis, whether via cable, satellite, On Demand, or live streaming via handheld devices.

The typical work flow is:

• Log in to the BON Video portal on a regular basis to select a writing task to work on, and to check for messages and project updates. An English-language draft written piece will be uploaded to the project task management area.
• Accept a writing task and review the project brief, such as type of written piece required, deadlines, deadlines, and to liaise online with our production researchers whenever required
• If applicable, receive any accompanying project documents including relevant text, image, audio and/or video files
       º  Project tasks may include any of the following:
              ¤ Writing an English-language text story
              ¤ Writing a text piece/script from scratch
• Submit written pieces for review by Project Manager and editorial approval.
• Further editing may be required until Project Task is completed.

Example projects:

• Writing a story for a feature program package
• Writing an original script for a multi-episode natural health TV series
• Writing articles for a weekly magazine news show
• Writing text stories for our multimedia web portal

PAYMENT

Each Project Task shall be assigned a USD earning value. All monies earned shall be accrued monthly and paid (wired)on a monthly basis in your preferred currency.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, you must have 5+ years of experience working in a writing role within a busy television media, magazine or newspaper newsroom or bureau, or you will have previous article writing experience for television or general video media purposes.

Your ability and experience to work unaided, to self-critique your work, and to make editorial decisions in a meticulous, deadline-sensitive environment without direct supervision will be essential to this role.

Furthermore, attention to detail, a strict sense of time management and organisational skills are also important to successfully work in this role.

You will also be expected to have a strong interest in China with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas: business, news and information, culture, health/lifestyles, tourism, and technology.

HOST/PRESENTER (TELEVISION)

We are recruiting now for Television Hosts and Presenters to work on a range of new and continuing China-focused, English-language television productions. Uniquely working from the convenience of your current location, you will complete television reporting and presenting tasks with your location and the surrounding area. All Jobs will be made available to you via your allocated private administrative account login on our international content management workflow portal, BON Cloud.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ultimately reporting to the Project Manager, and liaising online on a regular basis with the production research team, you will be responsible for successfully completing Hosting tasks. The type of hosting required will vary in length, emphasis, style and genre.

We produce and broadcast a wide range of Features and News video content. The hosting and/or reporting work you complete will be broadcast on international television on a periodic basis, whether via cable, satellite, On Demand, or live streaming via handheld devices.

The typical work flow is:

• Log in to the BON Video portal on a regular basis to select a hosting/video reporting task to work on, and to check for messages and project updates.
• Accept a task and review the project brief, such as type of hosting/reporting job, deadlines, and liaise online with our production team whenever required
• If applicable, receive any accompanying project documents including relevant text, image, audio and/or video files
• Submit your completed video for review by Project Manager and editorial approval.

Example projects:

• Complete an on-location piece to camera as part of a general, China-related video story
• Organize and complete a Walk and Talk mini-feature for a technology review show
• Interview a local businessperson or government official on a specific China-related topic
• Report on a live event in your region that is related to China.

PAYMENT

Each Project Task shall be assigned a USD earning value. All monies earned shall be accrued monthly and paid (wired)on a monthly basis in your preferred currency.

VIDEO CONTENT REVIEWER (TELEVISION)

We are recruiting now for a new Quality Control team to regularly review a range of new and continuing China-focused, English-language television shows of varying lengths and styles. Uniquely working from the convenience of your current location, video content and associated questionnaires that you will need to complete will be made available to you via your allocated private administrative account login on our international content management workflow portal, BON Cloud.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ultimately reporting to the Director of Quality Review, you will be responsible for watching a variety of video content from end-to-end and giving your feedback, whether quantitative (with a number-based score), or qualitative (where we ask you to give your opinion by answering a series of questions immediately after you have watched a video). Pieces will vary in length, emphasis, style and genre.

We produce and broadcast a wide range of Features and News video content. All video content you will review is geared for international television broadcast on a day-to-day basis, whether via cable, satellite, On Demand, or live streaming via handheld devices.

The typical work flow is:

• Log in to the BON Video portal on a regular basis to select a video review task to complete. All available tasks will be listed and you will be able to select the review tasks you wish to work on.
• Accept a review task and followthe review brief, which will described the type of review you will be required to give, and anydeadlines (wherever applicable).
• Using the BON Cloud management portal, submityour fully completed questionnaireto the Director of Quality Review. Job done!

Example projects:

• Review a short 3 minute mini feature about Shanghai tourism. Give your scores out of 10 based on the questions asked
• Review a 27 minute lifestyle program focusing on Chinese entrepreneur’s lifestyles, giving written responses to a series of topical questions.
• Review a 12 minute arts and culture video focusing on ancient Chinese artworks
• Review a 15 minute business and technology news/information show, giving your opinion on quality of stories, quality of presenting, overall presentation value, and other quality-related questions.

PAYMENT

Each Project Task shall be assigned a USD earning value and will be paid per Review project, as indicated. All monies earned shall be accrued monthly and paid (wired)on a monthly basis in your preferred currency.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, you must be a native English speaker between the age of 18 and 65. You will also be expected to have a strong interest in China with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas: business, news and information, culture, health/lifestyles, tourism, and technology.

Your writing skills should be strong, since you will need to express your opinions clearly and in detail.

Naturally since this is an internet-based role, your ability to work unaided, to self-critique and complete your review work to a high standard without direct supervision will be essential to this role.

VOICEOVER (VO) NARRATOR (TELEVISION)

We are now recruiting native English-speaking Voiceover/Narrating talent to voice a range of new and continuing China-focused, English-language television content of varying lengths and styles. Uniquely working from the convenience of your current location, you will follow specific Project Tasks made available to you via your allocated private administrative account login on our international content management workflow portal, BON Cloud.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ultimately reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for voicing scripts and written pieces in different styles and at a variety of paces. Ready-to-narrate scripts will be made available to you as well as a Project Brief.

We produce and broadcast a wide range of Features and News video content. All video content you will provide the voice for is geared for international television broadcast on a day-to-day basis, whether via cable, satellite, On Demand, or live streaming via handheld devices.

The typical work flow is:

• Log in to the BON Video portal on a regular basis to select a Voiceover/Narration task to complete. All available tasks will be listed and you will be able to select the task(s) you wish to work on.
• Accept a task and follow the brief, which will described the type of program, narrating style required, and any additional quality expectations for the individual show, as well as any deadlines that need to be met.
• Using the BON Cloud management portal, submit your fully completed voiceover/narration audio file and any accompanying added notes to the Project Manager.
• Once the audio file quality is approved, your work on the task will have been completed.

Example projects:

• Voice a short 3 minute mini feature about Shanghai tourism with a lively, upbeat voice.
• Review a 27 minute lifestyle program focusing on Chinese entrepreneur’s lifestyles, with a voice that engages with the audience and brings the story in this show to life.
• Review a 12 minute arts and culture video, where your voice carries the emotion required to carry off the particular nuances of a significant historical or cultural event.
• Review a 15 minute business and technology news/information show, where your voice has the required gravitas, charisma and passion to connect with audiences on a range of time-sensitive and informational stories.

PAYMENT

Each Voiceover/Narration Task shall be assigned a USD earning value and will be paid per completed project task, as indicated. All monies earned shall be accrued monthly and paid (wired)on a monthly basis in your preferred currency.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, you must have 5+ years of experience working as a voiceover talent within a busy television media, radio media or public speaking environment.

You will already have a series of examples of your previous professional narrating and/or general voice-work to show us.

You will have access to your own professional voice recording equipment/booth, whether at home or in a local facility, which you will use to complete the Voiceover work we assign to you. Any required equipment will be supplied by you.

Your ability and experience to work unaided, to self-critique your work, and to make quality-based decisions in a meticulous, deadline-sensitive environment without direct supervision will be essential to this role.

Furthermore, attention to detail, a strict sense of time management and organisational skills are also important to successfully work in this role since as a television network keeping to deadlines is extremely important.

You will also be expected to have a strong interest in China with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas: business, news and information, culture, health/lifestyles, tourism, and technology.
